NSFileProtectionComplete), encrypted by iOS when the device is locked and inaccessible to any other app.
My Folder requests the following iOS permissions only when you use the relevant features:
Used only when you tap Scan to capture a physical document. Photos are immediately converted to PDF and saved locally. No images are sent anywhere.
Used when you choose to import a photo. Selected photos are copied into the app's private storage and not accessed again. Also used when exporting a file back to Photos.
Requested on every app launch to protect your files. Authentication is performed entirely by iOS — My Folder never sees your biometric data.
The iOS document scanner (VNDocumentCameraViewController) may trigger a microphone prompt on some system versions. My Folder does not use the microphone and records no audio.
My Folder includes a Share Extension ("Save to My Folder") that appears in the iOS share sheet of other apps.
My Folder supports two levels of password protection:
Stored using PBKDF2-SHA256 with a unique 32-byte random salt and 100,000 iterations. Only the derived hash and salt are stored — your plain-text password is never saved anywhere.
PBKDF2-SHA256 100,000 iterationsApplied directly to the PDF file using AES-256 encryption via Apple's CGPDFContext framework. The password lives inside the encrypted PDF file itself, consistent with the PDF standard.
We do not share your data with anyone — because we do not have your data.
My Folder does not use any third-party frameworks, SDKs, advertising networks, analytics services, or cloud platforms. There is no backend server.
All data is stored on your device under your full control.
The developer retains no copies of your data.
